How does it feel to be hypnotised?
Everyone experiences the hypnotic state differently and in fact people find that each time they are hypnotised, the experience is unique. The feeling can be likened to a meditative state, except of course, it is guided by the hypnotherapist who speaks directly to the subconscious mind using suggestions previously discussed with the client.
The hypnotic state, sometimes called the trance state, is somewhere between being fully alert and being asleep.
You can expect to be very pleasantly relaxed. In a passive mood, but aware of everything that is said to you during the session. You may find that you lose some recollections of the session afterwards, much in the same way as dreams can be recalled upon waking but sometimes lost soon afterwards.
After the first session, clients invariably report that the process is deeply relaxing and soothing. Hypnosis alone can be therapeutic, even without the positive suggestions given during therapy.
