Even more amazing, a retrospective survey by Gallagher (2001) noted that participants in the Hypnosis for Childbirth series averaged 4.5 hours of active labour, compared with 12 hours in other first time mums.

* Mums using hypnosis preparation for childbirth use significantly less medication. Both sets of research back this up. This is good for baby, and good for you because less drugs means faster recovery.

Quit Smoking

quitsmokingIf you want to quit smoking, then hypnotherapy may be the answer you’ve been searching for. Smoking cessation with hypnosis has a higher success rate than any of the physical means on the market, such as gums, pills and patches. These methods tend to deal with the presence of nicotine, rather than the habit or pleasurable associations connected to smoking. Nicotine is gone from the body in 2 to 4 days but as we are all aware, many people who quit smoking relapse and return to the habit after some time. Basically it’s not the physical effect of smoking that is addictive.

Smoking is a psychological and emotional addiction. Certain behaviours such as drinking, having a meal or socialising become linked to smoking through repetition, creating neural pathways and pleasurable associations. Hypnotherapy can change the pathways and “rewire” the triggers that used to lead to a cigarette.

Perhaps you’ve tried to quit smoking before and found it too difficult or maybe you succeeded for a while and have then gone back to the habit, feeling disappointed with yourself. Hypnotherapy can help you to be a permanent non-smoker by using the power of your subconscious mind. All you need is a strong desire to rid yourself of the habit and be willing to make a commitment.
